Gary Stalkers Biography

Gary Stalker is a playwright, producer, actor, and now novelist.
​
His new novel, Guru Tom, is written in the form of a memoir, telling the story of Tom Noble, a mindfulness entrepreneur on the speakers circuit. In some ways it parallels Gary’s own life.
​
His best known plays are Ghost Trees and Loving Kurt Vonnegut.
Ghost Trees, his most recent work is a solo show about the existential threat to New Zealand’s enormous kauri trees. It is performed by Gary and has toured to festivals throughout New Zealand.
​
As an actor he came to prominence in Gaylene Preston’s film Mr Wrong and has gone on to appear in many theatre, film and tv shows in both New Zealand and Australia over the last four decades.

As well as writing and acting, Gary has produced award winning television commercials, promos, short films and music videos for his visual effects company Afterglow Films.
